Grubb, Nancy. Revelations: Art of the Apocalypse. New York: Abbeville Press, 1997. 144 pp.

In her introduction, Grubb provides an overview of the sources and symbolism of biblical accounts of the Apocalypse. The following chapters are devoted to the specific imagery, in which Old and New Testament verses are interwoven with images by Western artists. Included are: Fra Angelo, William Blake, Hieronymous Bosch, Michelangelo, Raphael, Peter Paul Rubens, Luca Signorelli, and J.M.W. Turner.

250 illustrations, 247 in colour, are included.
