Bjørsted fremlægger en lang række argumenter for, at man ikke skal forstå Åb om Israel, sådan som (især) dispensationalisterne gør. Jeg kan tilslutte mig denne konklusion, selv om jeg ikke er enig i alle formuleringer og begrundelser i afsnittet. Andre er ikke enige og begrunder det bl.a. med, at man dermed ophæver &#8220;den ligefremme betydning af GT&#8217;s løfter til Israel – de løfter, der handler om et fysisk historisk folk og et konkret landområde i Mellemøsten&#8221; (Jan Frost, &#8220;Årsberetning&#8221;, Ordet &amp; Israel, nr. 7, 2010, s. 16). Talen om &#8220;ligefrem betydning&#8221; er for unuanceret. F.eks. har Vern Poythress argumenteret overbevisende for, at det er en misforståelse af GT (hvilket ikke kommer som en overraskelse for en luthersk teolog!). Se mere i indlægget Vern S.
